About Funston Hall

Built in 1978 and designed by Kilham Beder & Chu of New York, Funston Hall houses 97 residents in 57 single rooms and 10 four-person suites. It was the first dormitory in Connecticut — and possibly the nation — fully equipped for students with physical disabilities, featuring extra-wide corridors, hallway guide rails, a Braille-button elevator, and ramp access throughout. Part of the First-Year Neighborhood on Summit Street, Funston is known for a quieter atmosphere relative to the rest of South Campus.
