About Smith Hall

Completed in 1966 and designed by Robert O'Connor (Class of 1916), Smith Hall was built as part of a federally funded South Campus expansion that also produced Jackson Hall and Trinity Hall. The building offers a mix of single rooms and small multi-person suites and was designated Trinity's Quiet Dorm beginning in fall 1982, prohibiting loud music and games in hallways. With approximately 39 residents, it is one of the smaller buildings in the First-Year Neighborhood on Summit Street.
