[Hyde Park — Inside Woodlawn Residential Commons (East wing)] Baker House is one of UChicago's 48 named houses — a 4-year residential community of about 70 students with its own faculty Resident Heads, lounge, dining table at house dinners, and traditions. Named for Frank Baker II, AB'94, and Laura Day Baker. UChicago students are assigned to a house for their entire 4-year undergraduate career; house affiliation persists in the alumni network.
