About Coolidge Tower

Coolidge Tower is one of the four 22-story high-rise residence halls in the Southwest Residential Area of UMass Amherst. Named for President Calvin Coolidge — a native of western Massachusetts and a graduate of Amherst College nearby — the tower provides corridor-style accommodations with communal bathrooms and sweeping views of the Pioneer Valley. Coolidge Tower houses approximately 550 students and is connected to the Southwest dining complex. As part of the Southwest residential community, Coolidge Tower residents participate in some of the most active intramural sports programs and floor community traditions on the UMass campus.
