The University of New Mexico is the flagship university of New Mexico and a public research institution in Albuquerque. Founded in 1889, UNM is distinguished by its Pueblo Revival architecture, its location in the multicultural Southwest, and its strengths in Latin American studies, Native American studies, law, medicine, and engineering. The campus serves more than 26,000 students and is designated a Hispanic-Serving Institution.
