DEMOLISHED 🏚️ Demolished 2015 Original Chittenden Hall (1949 McKim, Mead and White) was part of the "Shoeboxes" trio (Chittenden, Buckham, Wills) on UVM's East Campus, demolished circa 2015 as part of the Central Campus development project that replaced them with 699 beds of modern housing. Not on UVM's current hall list (verified 2026-06). Page kept for historical reference.

About Chittenden Hall

Chittenden Hall is a first-year residence hall on UVM's Redstone Campus, named for Thomas Chittenden, Vermont's first governor. The corridor-style building offers double rooms and is part of the cluster of Redstone halls that provide first-year students with a residential neighborhood experience.

Chittenden Hall has no air conditioning. Students here often pick up:
