Instead House is Wellesley's feminist student cooperative, a small self-governed residential community that operates on principles of collective care, mutual support, and shared responsibility. Residents co-manage the house, share cooking duties, and intentionally build a community grounded in emotional sustainability and collective accountability. Instead offers an alternative to standard residential life for students seeking a more collaborative, values-driven living experience, and is co-located with Homestead on the campus grounds.
