Writer's Block (officially 156 High Street) is Wesleyan's writing-themed residence hall, home to students across all writing disciplines — from fantasy novelists to poets, essayists, and playwrights. The community gathers monthly to share current, past, and future writings. Programs include student readings and open mics; new writers are connected with more experienced residents. A practical perk: Writer's Block has WesWings restaurant on the ground floor for late-night food runs. The building has 2 lounges, a community kitchen, and a laundry facility. Most rooms are singles and some have balconies — an unusual amenity. 3-story walk-up with no elevator and no air conditioning. Open to both first-year and upperclass students.
