About Appleton Hall

Built in 1855 as "Appleton Cabinet," the building originally housed the Hitchcock Ichnological Collection. It was converted to residential use and renovated in 1999. [First-Year Quad West] Built in 1855 and renovated in 1999, Appleton Hall houses approximately 54 students, mostly in doubles. Known as the quietest of the first-year dorms, it suits students seeking a calmer social atmosphere. Features elevator access — one of the few first-year buildings with it — and laundry facilities on-site. The beautifully preserved 144-year-old exterior is a campus landmark.
