The Centennial II complex for first-year students sits on the east side of campus below Rathbone Hall and mirrors the Centennial I layout with six individual buildings: Beardslee, Carothers, Palmer, Stevens, Stoughton, and Williams. Each building houses 44 to 54 first-year students. Most rooms are doubles; a small number of triples and quads feature private bathrooms — these are among the most coveted rooms in the complex. Each student receives a desk, desk chair, bookshelf, bed, dresser, medicine cabinet with mirror, and a closet. On the first floor of each building is a multifunctional area with a TV room, game room, two study areas, and a kitchen. Outside the complex there is a large grass courtyard and a volleyball court — a natural gathering place in warm weather. Centennial II is popular with students who value outdoor community space and a lively atmosphere. Like Centennial I, it benefits from excellent proximity to Rathbone Dining.
