Duncan College is Rice's newest residential college, opened in 2009 and named for Charles Duncan Jr., a former U.S. Secretary of Energy and Houston civic leader. Duncan features modern suite-style architecture with semi-private bathrooms, air conditioning, and some of the largest common spaces of any Rice college. As the newest college, Duncan is still building its traditions while benefiting from the most modern facilities in the Rice residential system.
