About Jones College

Jones College is one of Rice's original six residential colleges, founded in 1957 and named for Jesse H. Jones, a prominent Houston businessman. Jones has a strong reputation for its diverse, welcoming community and lively social events. Traditional corridor-style rooms with communal bathrooms, all air-conditioned. Jones is one of Rice's larger colleges and tends to attract students with a wide range of academic interests. Located on the east side of the main campus quadrangle.
