About Alderman Residence Hall

Alderman Residence Hall is one of UNC's historic North Campus corridor halls, built in 1937 and named for Edwin Alderman, the first president of the University of Virginia and a major figure in Southern education. Traditional corridor-style rooms with communal floor bathrooms, no air conditioning. Alderman's North Campus location puts it close to Wilson Library, the historic original campus quadrangle, and Franklin Street's dining and shops. Primarily upperclass housing.
