Grimes Residence Hall is one of UNC's North Campus corridor halls, opened in 1922 as part of the original Olde Campus Upper Quad development. Named for Bryan Grimes, a Confederate general and North Carolina hero. Traditional corridor-style rooms with communal floor bathrooms, no air conditioning. Located on UNC's historic North Campus, Grimes is part of the original residential quad that gave form to the upper North Campus residential community.
