Joyner Residence Hall is one of UNC's newer and most modern South Campus residence halls, offering suite-style rooms with semi-private bathrooms and air conditioning. Named for James Yadkin Joyner, former North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction. Joyner is popular with first-year students who prefer a more private bathroom arrangement. The hall is located on South Campus near the main dining and recreational facilities, and its newer construction means better amenities than the older corridor halls.
