Kent House is a traditional corridor-style first-year residence hall at Washington College, organized with gender-designated wings on each floor. The building contains 36 double rooms (averaging 11'6" × 15') with community bathrooms located in each wing. Kent House is also home to the First Year Science House (STEM LLC), a Living-Learning Community for first-year students in science and math majors — a program that has been shown to increase student persistence and success in STEM fields, particularly for women. Each floor has wing lounges and larger connecting lounges, creating gathering spaces at multiple scales. In-building laundry is included in the room rate. Hotel-style climate control units are in every bedroom. Kent House does not have an elevator and is not accessible.
