About Albright-Benton Residence Hall

Albright-Benton Residence Hall opened in 1962 and is home to 392 first-year students across two adjacent 4-floor buildings named for Anne P. Albright (Dean of Women) and Alice A. Benton (longtime WCU professor). Double-occupancy rooms are grouped on single-gender floors with community bathrooms (2 per floor). The hall has no elevator, no air conditioning, and is less than 100 feet from Brown Hall, which houses dining and retail. A courtyard with a small creek connects the two buildings, and a pool table occupies the main lobby. Laundry is in the ground floor of each building.
