One of Rice's oldest Residential Colleges, Hanszen has a distinctive split personality between its Old Section (traditional corridor-style rooms from the 1940s, communal bathrooms) and its New Section (suite-style rooms from the 1990s). Hanszen is known for its strong community, eclectic personality, and its famous "Pub" — one of the few student-run bars on a college campus in the US.
