Sassafras Hall is a three-floor co-educational suite-style residence for second-, third-, and fourth-year students and the newest of Washington College's three River Dorms. The building houses 75 rooms — 46 singles and 29 doubles — organized in four-person suites. Every suite houses four residents; Type 1 suites offer two singles plus one double while Type 2 suites contain two double rooms. Each suite has a private bathroom with separate shower and toilet rooms plus two sinks; residents decide whether their suite is gender-designated or gender-inclusive. Sassafras is fully ADA-compliant with an elevator, and select doubles measure 12 × 22 feet to accommodate accessibility needs. Each floor has a public lounge and kitchen, plus a laundry room with costs included in the room rate. The first floor additionally features a conference room and a meditation/prayer room.
