Gray Hall is a corridor-style residence hall in Mendelsohn Quad, affiliated with the Undergraduate College of Information Technology Studies. One of Stony Brook's original halls from 1961, it offers doubles with communal bathrooms and no air conditioning. The building has been recently renovated and is open to upperclassmen in addition to first-year students. Gray Hall hosts a Substance Free living option for students who prefer an alcohol- and drug-free environment. Some residents have noted the building is in a lower-lying area of campus that can be prone to flooding during heavy rains.
