About Ruffin Residence Hall

Ruffin Residence Hall is one of UNC's North Campus corridor halls, built in 1922 and housing approximately 90 students across four floors. Named for Thomas Ruffin, the Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court (1833–1852) who was also a UNC trustee. Traditional corridor-style rooms with communal floor bathrooms, no air conditioning. Ruffin's compact size and North Campus location near Wilson Library make it a popular choice with upperclassmen who value a quieter, more intimate residential community.
