Delaware State University is a historically Black land-grant university in Dover, Delaware, founded in 1891 as the State College for Colored Students. DSU is the only public HBCU in Delaware and one of the nation's 19 historically Black land-grant universities established under the Second Morrill Act of 1890. The university offers strong programs in biological sciences, aviation, business, education, social work, and nursing. DSU's aviation science program is one of the few at a public HBCU in the nation.
